Philadelphia - Part 1

When we got to Philly on Sunday at about 3:00 we had just enough time to check in to our hotel and head down to Independence Hall for our 4:30 tour.

Our hotel was on Market Street in downtown Philadephia.  It also happens to be right by one of the most well known Philly addresses where Roy Halladay (pitcher for the Phillies) lives.  I got a Halladay jersey as a souvenir!

We toured Independence Hall and since everything closes at 5pm we had the rest of the evening to wander around Philly.  We managed to walk down to Penn's Landing then meet my Uncle David and Jim for dinner on trendy South Street.

With my sisters in front of Independence Hall.

My parents in front of Independence Hall.

Jon's on South Street where I got a Philly Cheese steak!

The next day (Monday) we woke up really early and headed down to see the liberty bell.  Then we were off to the Constitution Center.  It was a long day, but if you're ever in Philadelphia, these first three things that we did were definitely must-sees.

For lunch we went to the Reading Market where there are tons of locals.  We really got a taste of the city and the food was amazing.

When lunch was over we boarded a double decker bus to tour the city.  It was a great view and relaxing way to take in all of Philly.

Next stop on the tour was the Eastern State Penetentiary.  More to come on that adventure tomorrow!
