Autism Awareness Month

Last night in class we had a mother come and speak to us.  She has 4 children.  One with autism, one with autism and down syndrome, and two with speech delays.  It was so moving to hear her stories about her day to day struggles with children who have special needs.

A child with autism, or any disability for that matter, is not someone that can't be a productive member of society.  They can.  They are different and their differences should be embraced.
